For this project, the task was to design a poster for an item or service that was out of the range of familiarity.
A fun, vintage aesthetic was pursued to bring a sense of fun and light to the subjects.
I wanted to create a fun, vintage poster, like those for 1950’s pop music. Choosing illustrative design was mostly because of the complete lack of usable photographs for this particular accordion. The faded colours were a direct reference to the posters of this era, as well as the type-choices of Nexa Script R (the cursive) and Duality. Duality has a fun, musical feel to it, giving it the sense of movement and fun I was hoping to achieve, and Nexa felt like a good accompaniment in that sense of musicality.
